Child Psychiatrists
Medication services include prescribing, monitoring and adjustment by a behavioral health medical practitioner (BHMP) and includes the review of laboratory test results, observation of child/youth behaviors, recording the child’s/youth’s reactions to medications, and changing medication orders to alter negative reactions or to obtain desired therapeutic response and blood levels. Children/youth that are prescribed psychotropic medications are seen based on need. Informed consent is obtained by the BHMP from the youth and/or legal guardian for each medication prescribed.
