The pathophysiology of psoriasis involves vascular dysfunction, and some patients have variation within the gene for vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A), increasing their risk for developing psoriasis. Researchers studied whether patients with psoriasis express VEGF and how that might influence treatment options.
