Understanding how cytokines function within the plaque psoriasis setting, particularly interleukins 12, 17, and 23, could improve intervention methods for psoriasis—which currently includes conventional biologic and nonbiologic therapies that sometimes introduce adverse events, specific injection requirements, unsatisfactory results, and myriad damaging effects. Researchers explore prospective therapeutic approaches.
