Researchers examined differences in microbiome composition in patients with psoriasis and in those without. Microbiota in severe psoriasis patients differed from those with milder conditions; the results support the notion that intestinal flora is linked to psoriasis, as scherichia coli was significantly enriched in the psoriasis group studied. Metagenomic gene sequencing was utilized, and functional analysis indicated that in the psoriasis cohort, ko03010 was upregulated while ko02030 was downregulated.
