Psoriasis can lead to myocardial infarction and stroke, but little research exists on the adverse effects of psoriasis treatments, such as biologics and systemic therapy, on cardiovascular events. Researchers found that individuals with diseases such as diabetes mellitus type-2 are at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular events and multiple chronic conditions in the case of psoriasis.
