Jennifer serves as the Director of Advanced Practice Provider Development for Sentara’s inpatient specialty services across 12 hospitals in Virginia and North Carolina. In this role, she leads initiatives to advance the professional development, utilization, and performance of APPs while overseeing quality, compliance, and policy alignment.
A dedicated clinician, Jennifer has practiced as a Hospital Medicine Nurse Practitioner with Sentara for over a decade. She also serves on the APP Council, Business Effectiveness Committee, and chairs the APP Onboarding Committee. Jennifer is leading the creation of specialty-specific onboarding and competency programs that strengthen APP clinical confidence, enhance knowledge, and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Jennifer is currently spearheading the development of Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery APP onboarding initiatives, with the successful launch of both Hospital Medicine and Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine programs in 2025. She remains committed to increasing APP engagement through leadership, mentorship, and preceptorship, and leads key discussions around staffing, retention, and quality improvement.
From 2015 to 2024, Jennifer also served as clinical faculty with the University of Virginia’s AGACNP program and continues to precept NP students today. She is passionate about education and developing sustainable frameworks that empower APPs to grow as leaders in patient care and innovation.
Beyond her professional role, Jennifer is also deeply committed to her community. She is an active member of her local church and leads a women’s Bible study each Wednesday evening – continuing her lifelong dedication to growth, encouragement, and service to others.
