Laura Ross is a certified physician associate who has worked at the Park Nicollet Heart and Vascular Center in St. Louis Park MN since 2004 and is the director of the Prevention and Lipid Clinic. She is the president of the Academy of PAs in Cardiology and was thrilled to help organize the inaugural in person Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Summit for Advanced Practice Providers in 2023.

As a certified diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine as well as a Clinical Lipid Specialist through the National Lipid Association she is prepared to meet patients with many tools to improve their cardiac risk factors.

Starting the “HeartBeet clinic”, a lifestyle plant forward medicine program, has been a career highlight and contributed to her HealthPartners President’s award. Those positive findings of the benefits of using food as medicine have been published, and she is a trail blazer at her institution to utilize group visits to provide cost-effective care. When medications are indicated, she is excited to be one of the first PAs to be a principal investigator of a phase III pharmaceutical trial and is involved in multiple research studies. Being selected for several leadership committees at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) has been an honor, and led to being a co-author of the ACC adult cardiology core competencies for NP/PAs. This helped with her involvement in developing the ACC blueprint for the cardiovascular knowledge exam. She continues to strive to elevate patient care and the PA profession.
