Researchers looked at the importance of lifestyle intervention in the management of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Recent findings indicate that both observational cohort studies and randomized controlled trials support the health benefits of increased physical activity in CKD. Additionally, there is strong observational evidence supporting the benefits of a healthy dietary pattern that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, plant-based foods, and limited salt, sugar, saturated fat, red meat, and processed foods. The evidence suggests that lifestyle interventions, including physical activity and a healthy diet, are beneficial for patients with CKD.
