POCN LAUNCHES MENTORING PROGRAM AT 2022 AANP NATIONAL CONFERENCE

The annual program furthers POCN’s mission to support NPs’ and PAs’ professional advancements through thought leadership and growth opportunities

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – June 20, 2022 – POCN, the largest NP and PA network in the U.S., has launched its 2022 NP/PA Mentoring Program to help support professional development for APPs (Advanced Practice Providers) in coordination with the 2022 American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) National Conference. The goal for the POCN NP/PA Mentoring Program is to help cultivate professional development and enrich support through peer-to-peer connections. Attendees of the 2022 AANP, June 21-26 in Orlando, will be given first access to apply to the program.

“New NPs and even those transitioning into a new specialty need experienced mentors to help provide the clinical and emotional support they need during this transition. During a busy shift, your preceptor may not be able to answer all of your questions,” said Kate Morgan, Cardiology NP and POCN Mentor. “I am excited that POCN has put together this program that will provide a structured, safe, and comfortable environment with which to ask all your clinical concerns or
even concerns about workflow or time management.”

The POCN Mentoring Program is exclusive to US-based nurse practitioners and physician associates. Mentors and mentees who register for this program will be matched based on professional development interests. Free for mentees, mentoring will kick off in June and run continuously through December. Qualified mentors will be paid an honorarium for their time and commitment to support their mentees throughout the six-month program.

“The mentorship program is another way POCN is helping the next generation of NPs and PAs learn and connect,” says Richard Zwickel, CEO of POCN. “By pairing APP mentees with mentors who match their professional interests, participants receive peer coaching from outside of their immediate practice and clinical areas. This is especially important because there are still many APPs who are not able to access peer mentoring through their own institutions. We’re
thrilled to kick off this year’s program.”

Registration is now open online here and POCN Ambassadors will be available at AANP at booth 521 to answer questions. To learn more and apply to become a Mentor or Mentee in the Mentor Program, visit, pocn.com/mentor-program.
