Due to limited studies and variable outcomes, strong recommendations for intravenous (IV) iron use in these cases are uncertain. However, considering the severity of iron-deficiency anemia, risks of red blood cell transfusion, and the safety and efficacy of IV iron, conditional recommendations have been made.
