Ryan Baldeo, MPAS, MSPC, PA-C, FAAHPM, is a dedicated Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician Assistant currently practicing at Stanford Health Care. With clinical experience spanning both community-based and academic medical centers, including Mayo Clinic and Rush University Medical Center, he brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the field of palliative medicine.

Through serendipitous experiences, Ryan identified a profound passion at the crossroads of health literacy, socioeconomic status, cultural variability, and medical practice in the U.S., with a specific dedication to working with persons living with serious illnesses. Throughout his time in practice, he has encountered numerous obstacles, gaps, and roadblocks that serve as barriers to the delivery of specialty-level palliative care. These challenges have expanded his professional focus toward enhancing infrastructure, business models, education, and research to positively impact the future landscape of palliative care. His overarching goal is to develop and sustain initiatives that provide the necessary infrastructure to support consistent, high-quality palliative specialty services to patients and their loved ones.

Alongside his clinical roles, Ryan is an active educator and national advocate. He holds the historic distinction of being the first PA to receive the designation of Fellowship from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (FAAHPM). Serving as the President of Physician Associates in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (PAHPM) and as a clinical researcher, Ryan continuously champions the inclusion and advancement of PAs in the specialty, ensuring that exceptional care remains accessible to all.
