A recent study aimed to evaluate the understanding of patients with psoriatic disease (PsD), about their condition, the impact of the disease, and their relationships with healthcare professionals. Data were collected through an online survey, with 4,978 respondents from 20 countries. Of these, 30% had psoriatic arthritis (PsA) along with psoriasis. Forty-eight percent said the disease severely impacted their quality of life, a significant majority (82%) faced stigma, and a surprising 59% of patients weren’t part of setting their treatment goals. The findings suggest many patients with PsD might not grasp the full scope of their disease. They often weren’t part of treatment decisions and weren’t always satisfied with their treatments. To enhance treatment adherence and outcomes, patient involvement in care decisions is crucial, the study concluded.
