An international cross-sectional survey was conducted between June and August 2018 of rheumatologists and dermatologists as well as their patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) to evaluate disparities between clinical characteristics, disability, quality of life (QoL), and work productivity by sex in the real-world setting. A total of 2,270 patients were included in the analysis, with 46.1% being women. While disease presentation, disease duration, and biologic use were found to be similar between women and men, women reported to have worse QoL, work activity impairment, and disability. Men did report, however, to have worse burden of comorbidities. The authors of this study noted that these differences signify important considerations in the clinical management of PsA.
