Severe psoriasis has an increased cardiovascular risk and prevalence of subclinical coronary artery disease (CAD). Coronary artery calcium (CAC) testing can detect subclinical CAD, so researchers examined subclinical CAD prevalence as determined by CAC scores in patients with severe psoriasis and found that those patients, from low-risk and non-high-risk categories, have subclinical CAD.
