An altered gut microbiota exists in patients with autoimmune diseases, but most of the current studies are based on 16s rRNA gene sequencing analysis. Researchers considered whether the gut microbiota of patients with psoriasis was altered in composition and functional potentials, and the results determined that richness of bacteria did matter, but more research was necessary.
