Researchers evaluated changes in gut microbiota during narrow-band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) therapy. Stool samples from 22 participants, including 13 psoriasis patients and nine healthy controls, were analyzed using 16S rRNA sequencing before and after NBUVB therapy. Following NB-UVB treatment, certain bacteria were more enriched in responders but not non-responders. Additionally, serum vitamin D levels significantly increased after NB-UVB treatment. The study suggests that NB-UVB therapy can alter gut microbiota, and these changes may be treatment-specific and influence treatment response.
