Chronic plaque psoriasis is associated with comorbidities such as obesity, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and more. Researchers sought to estimate how prevalent metabolic comorbidities in palmoplantar plaque psoriasis are, so they conducted a case-controlled study centered on treatment-naïve palmoplantar plaque psoriasis patients. Their findings concluded that physicians should screen patients with palmoplantar psoriasis for myriad comorbidities because they did identify links.
