Researchers explored treatment preferences of young bio-naive adults with moderate to severe psoriasis in Nordic countries. The study included adults aged 18-45 who were bio-naive but recommended for biologic psoriasis treatment. The metrics used were the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI), Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), and basic patient data. Researchers conducted individual qualitative interviews using a semi-structured guide, inquiring about treatment preferences, disease history, and management. The qualitative study found that treatment preferences were influenced not just by the desire for symptom relief, but also by the burdens associated with the disease and its treatment, such as time, effort, and inconvenience. Researchers concluded these preferences and understanding the perspectives of young adults is crucial for decision-making in psoriasis treatment.
