This review of three databases from February 2012 to August 2022 provides an evidenced-based analysis of outcomes associated with spine surgery recovery. Included in the review are pre-, intra-, and post-operative fast-track strategies—which are generally not accepted in orthopedic spine surgery. Fast-track considers elements such as nutrition markers, multimodal analgesia, antibiotic prophylaxis, and more, and outcomes for its use include no increase in readmission rates, a reduction in patient length of stays, and lowered surgery costs. Fifty-seven texts were examined within the databases.
